Flatbed barbecues are perfect for "Plancha" style cooking, very common throughout Europe. The flatbed BBQ can be used as a Plancha and introduces a technique traditionally used in the Japanese style of Teppanyaki cuisine - 'teppan' meaning iron plate and 'yaki' referring to grilled.

Flat-top grills, or planchas are also traditionally used in France, Spain, South America and Cuba, Outback has combined the best of all worlds to provide a platform for cooking a variety of steaks, chops, chicken, fish, shellfish and vegetables or even fruit!

If your cooking meat and fish that cooks in under 15 to 20 minutes, or using the BBQ for eggs and bacon then a flatbed is the ideal option for you, they are also ideal for areas where space is limited as you have no hood, you can back the BBQ close to a wall and leave it in place.
